From March 2023 to February 2024, Williams Machinery sent their fully-electric, heavy-duty Konecranes E-VER forklift on a tour of several locations across the province of British Columbia, including the CNRE show and several pulp and paper mills.

The forklift has received popular reception among customers, who expressed that they are impressed by its powerful performance, quick pack packing, great visibility, and quiet, comfortable cab.

The Konecranes E-VER is the first of its kind in North America. Williams Machinery held customer events to showcase the forklift, and to give customers the opportunity to try out the E-VER at their own facilities. This gave customers the chance to see how the E-VER can perform for their businesses.

The Konecranes E-VER cuts energy consumption by up to 70%, thanks to a fully electric driveline. With the correct charging set up, the lithium-ion battery that powers the machine takes approximately 45 minutes to charge the E-VER forklift. The battery lasts for an average of 4,000 charge cycles, or about 5 years.

When test-driving the E-VER, operators were pleasantly surprised by how easily they were able to adjust to the controls, how quickly and easily they could pick up packs, and the smoothness of the ride itself. They were impressed by the visibility in the cab for both forwards and backwards forklift driving

They remarked on efficiency with which they could pick up packs, and the smooth maneuverability. They had great things to say about the visibility and comfort in the cab, and they were surprised by how quiet the E-VER is as well.
