Vermeer Launches LS3600TX as first foray into Slow-Speed Shredder Equipment
February 5, 2024
Stepping into the low-speed shredder industry, Vermeer has released its first shredder with the LS3600TX. Read on to see the details of the capable shredder machine and how it can help you with your tree care needs on the jobsite.
Low Speed, High Productivity
Slow-speed shredders are considered greatly valuable equipment for industries of construction, demolition and others that require handling contamination and other forms of non-organic waste. The slow-speed design means greater handling for these sorts of applications versus high-speed variants. Not only do they get the job, but there’s also a few advantages to having a slow-speed shredder versus high-speed grinder alternatives such as:
- Energy Efficiency – Slow speed rotors mean less energy needed to power the machine through tasks while maintaining quality output.
- Reduced Downtime – With slower operation speed there is often less downtime for these machines with lower wear and tear.
- Wider Range of Material Handling – With slow speed rotors there’s a wider range of materials able to be fed into the machine without causing damage to the internals.
High Torque & Built to Perform
Enjoy strong shredding capability from the LS360TX with a 10-foot (3m) rotor with 21 high-strength welded mounts in an aggressive pattern with two-bolt tips. Individual bolt in comb teeth provide two usable edges which extend the life of your shredding teeth. All this is powered by a reliable CAT C13B T4F engine, this engine is capable of 456 horsepower to get the task at hand completed. When in operation the machine produces a maximum of 120 decibel sound, barely louder than a standard motorbike or impact wrench. With Vermeer technologies productivity is heightened through remote functionality, hopper design, driveline protection, telematics systems and intuitive maintenance design, the LS3600TX is a very competitive entry into the low-speed shredder market.
Ease of Maintenance & Access
In times of maintenance, it’s always important to have easy access to the areas of the machine you need to service. With full remote functionality you can collect machine data to diagnose equipment fault codes all from a handheld remote. When needing to access the key components within the machine to remove debris and conduct upkeep you can easily access the open bay with the patented full hydraulic operated side door allowing easy access to the rotor, comb, & belly conveyor.
